In California the only law that specifically defines the legality and scope of the Hypnotherapist is contained in California’s Business and Professions Code #2908, which says that hypnotic tools and techniques can be used to offer avocational or vocational self improvement. Out of this scope of practice (medical condition, emotional or mental disorder) a referral may be required following the presented issue or client’s condition.

With Hypnosis the key is finding a quiet place without any distractions and getting comfortable as much as you can before and after the hypnotic trance. Online hypnotherapy sessions work just as they do in person, giving the same efficiency so you can keep yourself calm and relaxed.

Conducted in your own comfortable space, a few things need to be in place in advance:

  • A smart phone or device with a reliable internet connection.
  • A charged battery or plugged in for the duration of the session.
  • A quiet and comfortable space where you will not be interrupted.
  • All electronics turned off or put on Do Not Disturb mode or silent.
  • Try to avoid caffeinated beverages 3 hours prior to the session time.
  • Do not show up under the influence of any substance, alcohol or drugs.
